This pommel pad is made of 100% Merino sheepskin and is designed to lift the saddle away from the horse's withers and shoulders. Pommel pads can sometimes help with certain saddle fitting problems by adding extra cushioning for some high-withered horses. It's great for young horses or horses who might have experienced changed musculature after lay-ups. Pommel pads can also be used as a seat riser or under a training surcingle.
